CLEVELAND, Jane E.

It is with heavy hearts, we the family of Jane E. Cleveland, of Lunenburg, announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Collin’s Cove, NF, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie “Evelyn” (Riggs) Woundy.

Jane is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert; daughter, Wendy Hodder, Lunenburg; grandchildren, Corey (Meghan), Christopher (Tracey), Jason (Mary), and Krista (Andrew). The lights of her life were great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Madyson, Lucas, Liam, Zayn and Noah.

She was always her happiest when she was in the kitchen with her apron on preparing home-baked bread and meals for the family.

Also left to mourn are her brother, William Jr. (Edna) Woundy, and sister, Cynthia Creaser.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Robert Jr., son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Cathy, and nephew Ted Woundy.

Interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to VON or the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital for all of their care and compassion.
