Rosalie was a devoted wife of 60 years who liked nothing better than holding hands with the love of her life, Burleigh. She was a dedicated mother and a loving grandmother. Rosalie loved flowers and gardening and was an excellent cook and baker. She took a cake decorating course and made everyone’s birthday cake as well as her daughter’s wedding cakes. She was also an amazing seamstress who made lots of clothes for her daughters, including Belinda’s wedding dress and Melinda’s bridesmaid dresses. She enjoyed singing, reading and rug hooking but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Rosalie was involved in various community organizations. She was a valued member of the ladies auxiliary of the Blockhouse Fire Department, a member of the Home and School Committee and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Woman’s organization for many years. She enjoyed cooking for and attending pot lucks at Blockhouse Fire Hall and St John’s Lutheran Church. Rosalie was a homemaker and that was her pride and joy profession but before getting married she taught school on Tancook Island.

She took her final breath giving her loving husband his last kiss. Rosalie will be sadly missed by all her family. May God give her peace as she spends eternity in heaven with the angels.

A big thank you to the staff of Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital and Harbour View Haven for their wonderful care and compassion for Rosalie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay; South Shore Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice.
