MASON, John "Leslie"

John Leslie Mason of First South passed away on January 2, 2022 at the South Shore Regional Hospital at the age of 94.

Leslie was born in Lunenburg Nova Scotia on November 9, 1927 and was the youngest son of Jenny and Rector Mason.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Anna, Debra (Chris), Glenn (Tamara), Linda (Gibby) and Quentin (Merri); grandchildren, Trevor (Kala), Tate (Lisa), Cole (Lindsay), Amber (Jordan), Jenny (Jake) , Jay (Shelby), John (Paige), April (Ben), Autum (Jackson), Marcus (Kate), Chuck (Andrea), Thom (Natasha) and Kathleen (Deven), nieces, nephews and many great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis (Mosher), his second wife, Lucille (Beck) and brothers, Gordon, Cecil, Jimmy, Franklyn and sisters, Evelyn and Marilyn.

Leslie attended Lunenburg Academy. He worked in Halifax at Moirs Chocolate and then returned to Lunenburg and worked at different jobs until he became self-employed. Leslie enjoyed travelling especially to the north, hunting and fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed being with his family and hosted many family get together.

A family graveside committal service was held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre, Rev. Lee Simpson, officiated.
