GREEK, Ray Morton

2022-04-19

It is with great sadness that the family of Ray Morton Greek, 77, of Back Centre, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lunenburg, Ray was the son of the late Venice and Juanita (Tanner) Greek.

In his earlier years, Ray worked at the Lunenburg Foundry, Dominion store, and both scalloped and sword fished before going on to work for over 30 years at Michelin Tire in Bridgewater.

Over the years he was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, First South where he served on church council, sang in the men’s choir and supported the work of the church in any way he could.

Ray enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time at home with his family, camping, at the rink, and sharing times with friends. He enjoyed working around his property, wood working and Tole painting, and was never afraid to try fixing anything that was in need. He was a good friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Ray is survived by his wife, Joan, three sons, Michael (Jennifer Campbell), Deep Cove, Darren (Nicola), Brantford, Corey (Joan), Sunnybrook, grandchildren, Makenzie, Morgan, Madison, Aaliyah and Alexis, sister, Joanne Ullock (Gordon Nauss), Bridgewater, sister-in-law, Audrey Greek, Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Gerald, George, Lennie, Ivan and brother-in-law, Tom Ullock and sister-in-law, Mona Greek.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Highway 3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Ray’s life was held on Saturday April 23, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church, First South, Rev. Rick Pryce, officiated.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
