WHYNOT, Cynthia Leah "Cindy" (Goulden)


January 24, 1955 - September 23, 2017. Born in Bridgewater, Cindy was the youngest daughter of Marjorie and George Goulden. Moving to Mahone Bay in 1960, Cindy attended the town school before embarking on a career and raising a family. A long-time member of the Mahone Bay United Baptist Church, she served as Sunday School teacher, superintendent, and deacon. Affectionately known as Nana, she worked 18 years with her adopted family at the Mug & Anchor Pub. An active community volunteer, Cindy was a Brownie leader, worked with Meals-On-Wheels, the Food Bank, and the Inter-Church Council. She had an abiding love of nature, most especially the deer, the seaside, and hummingbirds. She is survived by her companion, Brian Kaizer; son, Robert and wife Pamela, Lunenburg; daughter, Kimberly and husband Martin, Mahone Bay; son, Bradley and wife Chelsea, Mahone Bay; sisters, Marlene Robart and Carolyn Gallagher, as well as former husband, Wayne Whynot. The shining stars of her life were her grandchildren, Madison, Lexie, Bruno, and Sofia and she was deeply proud of her children. Cindy was predeceased by son, Jeffery and her beloved parents. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Victoria General and South Shore Regional Hospitals for their exemplary care. No Visiting hours at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3rd 2017 at the Mahone Bay United Baptist Church, Maple Street, Mahone Bay. Memorial donations in Cindy’s name can be made to the Mahone Bay United Baptist Church, the Mahone Bay Food Bank or Soul’s Harbour Rescue Mission.
