ACKER, Reginald Leroy

Age 73, of Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with his family by his side. Born in Lake Pleasant, he was a son of the late Perry and Pearl (Burgoyne) Acker. Reg was a very kind, hard working man. In his younger years, Reg loved hunting, trapping and fishing; he always enjoyed a garden in the summer and working in his garage on vehicles, he was a jack of all trades. Later in life when he developed COPD and was unable to do all the things he enjoyed, he would watch wrestling and old western shows. He always enjoyed his Harley. Surviving are his loving wife, Emily (Obed); daughters, Stacy (Wayne); Crystal (Tommy); grandsons, Brayden, Dominic and Thomas; granddaughter, Brea; brothers, Ivan, Henry (Rose); sisters, Roxie (Paul), Georgina, Irene (Norman), Brenda, Rosalie (Billy); many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Perry and Pearl; son, Dwayne. Public visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. A private graveside service for family only will be held in Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Gillieo officiating. Donations may be made to the family or charity of choice. Special thanks to Dr. Heather Robertson and the nurses on the fourth floor of South Shore Regional Hospital for taking care of Reg in his last days.
