It is with deep sadness that the family of Betty Eisnor, Chester Basin, announce her passing on August 3, 2017, in Shoreham Village, Chester, at the age of 89. Born in Chester Basin on October 5, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Maxwell and Greta Webber (Backman). She graduated from Miss Murphy's Business College in Halifax and worked at Maritime Accessories, Halifax; Anil Canada in East River and an engineering firm in Bridgewater. She was the enumerator for the area for many years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #88, Aenon United Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, the over 40 Club and a lifelong member of St. John's Anglican Ladies Guild. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the cottage, playing cards and picnics out in the boat. She loved dancing, music, skating, traveling and playing the piano. Her greatest joy was her family, attending the grandchildren's different events and visits with her great-grandchildren. She has left us the most wonderful memories in her scrapbooks. She will be sadly missed and always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great nanny. She is survived by sons, Gary (Sheila), Randy (Audrey); daughter, Marlene (Gary); grandchildren, Kerri-Lynn Eisnor, Cory and Kaitlyn Eisnor, Jeffrey (Heather) Russell, Ashley (Zach) Day and Tiffany Russell; great-grandchildren, Leto, Alder, Arlenia, Hailey and Noah; brother-in-law Edsel Eisnor; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dean; brothers, Murray and Malcolm and sister, Joyce Rogers. Funeral service will be held in Aenon United Baptist Church, Chester Basin, Wednesday, August 9, at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Shoreham Village Foundation or Aenon United Baptist Church.
