It is with great sadness the family of Gerald Ford Hubley, 85, of Lunenburg, formerly of Deans Corner, announce his passing on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg.

Born in New Germany, he was a son of the late Ford and Pearl (Tanner) Hubley.

Gerald spent his working career as a marine engineer on the scallop boats. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, going for walks and bicycle rides.

Gerald is survived by his wife Brenda (Wagner); daughters, Pam (Larry Humphreys), Tanners Settlement, Patti (Bryan Tanner) Hubley, Garden Lots, Valerie (Dave) Munroe, NB, Vicki Hubley, NS, Tina (Malcolm) Smith, First Peninsula; son, Kirk, Deans Corner; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Conrad, Bridgewater, Maxine Speare, NB as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Franklin, and a sister in infancy.

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Harbour View Haven for their care given to Gerald over the past number of years while he was a resident at the home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, there is to be no public memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia would be appreciated by the family. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
