HANCOCK, Dorothea "Dottie"

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothea “Dottie” Margret Hancock, 88, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Shoreham Village Nursing Home, Chester.

Born in Turnip Cove, NL, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Violet (Hacquoil) Miles.

Mom was a devoted wife and mother of six beautiful children. She was quiet, gentle and had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed.

Dorothea “Dottie” is survived by her children, Sandra (Dale) Knock, Lunenburg; Davilyn (Richard) Knickle, Lunenburg; Levi (Marilyn) Hancock (Harbour Breton); Donna Moody, (Lockeport); Lana (Vaughan) Dexter, Sable River; Darren (Jacqueline) Hancock (Lunenburg); brother, Frank (Marilyn) Miles, Creston South, NL; sister, Cynthia (Sam) Lawrence, Edmonton, AB; sister, Lily Batstone, Portugese Cove-St. Philips, NL; sister, Donna (Walter) Marshall, Pools Cove, NL, and was loving grandmother to several grand-children, great grand-children; nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Levi; sister, Marion and brother-in-law, Gordon Ingram; sister, Lillian; brother, George; brother-in-law, Earl Batstone.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Highway 3, Lunenburg. A service and Internment to be held at a later date in Newfoundland.
