Bobby was a larger than life character known by many, having lived most of his life in Oakland. He was always known as a trickster and joker, never failing to comment on just about everything. He was a talented carpenter who had loved working with wood from an early age. He was never happier than when working down in his workshop on some project or another. He loved the outdoors, looking after his hens and property. Many thanks go to the palliative care team, Kerry South was wonderful, also to the V.O.N. who attended to Bobby. To the Doctors and Nurses at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital ER. Special thanks to EHS Paramedics, Martin Jung and Gerry DeMont, who were with Bobby when he was initially diagnosed and who stayed to help after he passed away. Thanks to Jackie and Noel, stellar neighbours who have been so supportive and to all of Bobby’s friends and colleagues who visited during his brief illness, especially Bruce who was never far away. Bobby will be missed by all whose lives he touched. A time for family and friends to gather for conversation and refreshments will be held 2 - 4pm, Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Flowers respectfully declined. The family requests memorial donations be made to South Shore Palliative Care or Victorian Order of Nurses.
