HERMAN, Fred David

Age 87 of Pleasantville, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Cumberland, he was the son of the late John and Clara (Richard) Herman.

Fred liked to fish and hunt and enjoyed his trips driving to Florida. His favourite times were meals with the family. He always made the dressing for the turkey at Christmas time and always made planked salmon for the Mush Pot-lucks. He loved spending time with the grandkids. He worked at Michelin and owned his own construction company. Later in life you could find him either making fire pits, woodworking or piddling in his yard or in the pit with the backhoe. He was a member of the Pleasantville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vida Louise Herman (Conrad); son Terry (Danielle) and family, David, Gary (Bonnie) and family; daughter Patricia (Mike); grandchildren Lucas (Caitlin), Caitlyn (Tomaz), Jason, Ashley (Sean); great-granddaughter Kiera; special part of the family Debbie, Lester, Ethan; brother Reginald (Linda); sisters Marjorie, Judy (Earl), Sharon (Stanley), many nieces and nephews.

Apart from his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles, sister Elizabeth; grandson Chris.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Pleasantville Fire Department, Pleasantville Baptist Church or Hope for Wildlife.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday May 5, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Pleasantville Fire Hall. Private family committal will be held in Pleasantville Cemetery.
