The family of the late Bernard "Butch" Eldershaw, a longtime resident of Dartmouth and Bridgewater, is saddened by their sudden loss on May 22, 2017. He was 74 years old. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Rose (Falkenham); sons, James Bernard (Sue) and Todd (Cindy); extended family, Corinna, Mark and chosen grandchildren Katherine and Nicholas Lowe; sisters, Audrey "Pinky" Haskins and Margy Burton; brothers, John "Bud" Eldershaw, Frank Taylor, Don Eldershaw, Fred Eldershaw and Rob Eldershaw. Predeceased by parents, Mary "May" and Donald Eldershaw, step-father Henry Taylor; sister, Ruth "Sissy" Warford and a number of nieces and nephews. Retired from a 30-year career with the City of Dartmouth. He loved to fish and went on many trips with his sons. He was kind and gentle and loved to help people. He enjoyed a few trips to the Lamplighter with the boys. His favourite pastime was work. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth, Saturday, May 27, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Burial service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2 pm in Silver's Cemetery, Highway 3, Rhodes Corner, Lunenburg County.
