EISENHAUER, Mary Elizabeth

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Eisenhauer, 80, of Nictaux and formerly of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Sunday, May 20, 2023, at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton after a long battle with dementia.

Born in Sydney, Mary was the daughter of the late Alex and Cecilia (Gillis) MacIsaac.

Mary attended St Martha’s Nursing School in Antigonish and started her nursing career in North Queens Nursing home. She then took a position at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg where she continued to work until she retired and became a homemaker.

Mary was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed playing golf courses around Nova Scotia with many of her friends over the years. Mary had the opportunity to raise and look after horses of her own when she relocated to Nictaux and several house pets, which she truly loved beyond words.

Mary is survived by her partner, Colin Robarts; her son, Wayne (Sheri) of Caledonia; grandchildren, Alexander Mansfield of Caledonia, Bayleigh (Christian) Mansfield; great-grandson, Bradley; brothers, Roger (Karen) MacIsaac, Amherst, NS; Danny (Francis) Campbell, Mira Cape Breton, NS; brother-in-law, John Leblanc, Cheticamp, NS; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Eisenhauer (Lunenburg), sister, Heather Leblanc (Cheticamp).

There will be a graveside committal service to be announced later for immediate family only.
