It is with deep sadness that the family of Gregory Fraser Knickle, 50, of Blue Rocks, announces his sudden passing on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Halifax.

Born in Lunenburg on August 17, 1972, he was the only son of Linda (Black) Cail and the late Fraser Knickle.

Greg most recently worked at Highliner Seafood’s, Lunenburg, and also loved to do automotive work in his garage. Friends will remember his love of Trans Am cars and his favourite movie “Smokey and the Bandit”.

Besides his mother, Greg is survived by his long-time companion, Veronica Hodder; son, Brandon Smith; daughter, Nicole Haines; aunts, Heather (Oran) Hyson, Carolyn (Lyle Treleaven) Forsyth, Veronica’s daughters, Kristy and Karly; as well as several cousins.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Albert and Maude Knickle and John and Ethel Black, uncles, Doug Forsyth and Kendall Black.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family.
