COFFIN, Robert Douglas

Age 68, of Queensland, passed away on October 20, 2017, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Fred and Dorothy (Hardyman) Coffin. Robert worked for 31 years with the DND Halifax Dockyard, retiring in 2001 as the DSGO. He was an avid Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. In his earlier years, he coached and umpired fast ball in the Hubbards area and enjoyed going to the local card games with his brother on Friday nights. Survived by his wife Esther; brothers, Fred (Dawn), Mill Cove; Stephen (Angel), Greenwood; sisters-in-law, Angela (John) Bennett, Cheryl Coolen, Kristine (Ray) Coolen, all of Halifax; brother-in-law, Martin Coolen, Mill Cove; nieces and nephews, Erin, Kristy, Mary, Ryan, Anthony, Michelle, Donie, Colby, Anthony, Holly, Shelly, Heather, Nelson, Nichole, Laura and Ivy. Predeceased by sister, Gloria; and sister-in-law, Karen. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Sunday, October 22, in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards.
