It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Savory, 86, of Adams Street, Lunenburg, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Valley Hospice in Kentville.

Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late William and Vera (Devlin) Mosher.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. After high school, Marie went onto the Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro and began teaching in Halifax. Marie spent the majority of her years teaching at Burton Ettinger Elementary school in Fairview. She retired in June 1992 to their beloved summer cottage on Heckmans Island near Blue Rocks. Marie and Angus raised their three children in Halifax and spent weekends and summers on Heckmans Island, where their six grandchildren also enjoyed spending time with their grandparents.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Angus Savory; sons, Mark (Karen) Savory, Middle Sackville, Keith (Daveda) Savory, Dayspring; daughter, Amy (Bob) Power, Dartmouth; grandsons, Adam (Chantelle) Savory, Beaver Bank, Jeremy Power, Halifax, Michael (Allison) Savory, Middle Sackville, Eric (Jillian) Power, Dartmouth, Alec (Erin Welch) Power, Dartmouth; granddaughter, Jessica Savory (Sam Beythien), Dayspring; brothers, William Mosher, Halifax, John (Linda) Mosher, Shad Bay, Robert (Denise) Mosher, USA, Walter (Gayle) Mosher, Lucasville; sister, Patricia Landry, USA. Marie is also survived by four loving great grandchildren, Aria, Noelle, Hannah and Harley, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dana L Sweeny of Lunenburg. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a future time and location.

Memorial donations in Rosemarie’s name may be made to Valley Hospice (Kentville, NS).
