FALKENHAM, Gilbert Theodore

Age 88, of Maplewood, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Parkdale, Lunenburg County, on April 7, 1933. Gilbert was the son of the late Ernest and Marie (Spidle).

ÊGilbert is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Smith); his daughter, Charlene Gale (Arthur) Alberta; son, Carson (Cheryl) Middle Sackville; son, Clark (Dale) Scarsdale; two sisters, Wilma Dorey (Cecil) and Mary Alexander (William); grandchildren, Shannon Herbert, Shawn Falkenham (Elizabeth), Jonathan Falkenham (Tarida), Alissa Falkenham, Jason Falkenham, Melissa Butt (Devin) and Crystal Butt; great grandchildren, Cameron and Chelsea Herbert, Sadie Butler, Lillian and Rosalie Dorian, Cole and Dylan Butt, Emmett and Ella Gale.

ÊGilbert was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Marie; sister, Eleanor (Grace); brother, Myles; son, Carter; two grandsons, Nigel Falkenham and Michael Gale (Kayla).

ÊGilbert was a lumberman, building contractor and land developer. He met many individuals over the years, especially in the cottage communities, viewing them as his extended family. He enjoyed being around people. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Gilbert spent many hours attending the Kingdom Hall, building a strong faith in God and sharing the hope of God’s promise of an earthly Paradise with ones he met. Seeing a Kingdom Hall in New Germany brought him a great deal of joy. Gilbert will be remembered by his family and friends as a hardworking family man, always on the go and willing to assist anyone in need.
