BROOKLYN – A new art gallery that will open April 1 is combining music with art.

Sue Jensen and her husband, Chres, will be opening Gallery 244, located at 3549 Highway 3 in Brooklyn on April 1 from 6-8 p.m. with the theme or tagline, April Fools, No Foolin'.

"We're very excited about this," she said. "We have fine art for music lovers, and all of our art has to do with music."

Chres is the artist, while Sue is the business manager and music person.

The opening will include art by Jensen and some music provided by local hand drummers at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided and there will be some give-aways.

The duo moved from Alberta about a year-and-a-half ago where they had a farm, music and art, something they've always wanted, but, "we ended up just farming and did a lot to support the farm, with just a little music and art mixed in. We're very excited to be able to do this full time now."

Along with displaying art from Chres and various artists, all with the music theme. They will also carry gift items such as 3-D paint kits, maple syrup, snacks, drinks and T-shirts and they hope to host painting classes and music events as well.

Sue said they are open to displaying art from other artists, however, she said they do not sell art, per se, but instead purchase the art, "because we believe in it and love it," then if they can sell it, that would be a good thing.
