by Keith Corcoran

A Mount Saint Vincent University public relations (PR) graduate from Bridgewater earned individual accolades along with the honour of delivering a valedictory address recently in front of a packed auditorium.

Alison Bryan, 22, the daughter of Angela and Patrick Bryan, secured a membership to Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society, recognition "based on scholarship, leadership, and service," and a valedictorian prize "for significant contributions to extracurricular activities" at the Halifax school "and in the community-at-large."

Bryan completed the four-year PR degree and recently graduated with distinction, boasting a stellar 3.6 grade point average.

Credited for her social and academic dedication to the university, Bryan packed her schedule to the brim during her time there.

She worked on the campus' inclusivity campaign supporting the LGBTQ community, student empowerment events such as WE Day, and also helped with campus tours and served as a student mentor. Bryan was also heavily involved in university committees such as ones dealing with academics, discipline, orientation and alumni.

Bryan currently lives in the city and works as a sales associate for a fitness company. She enjoys the job but looks forward to finding a position in her field at some point.
