Pleasantville man faces charges after cannabis dispensary raid in Halifax

A Lunenburg County man faces charges after a Halifax cannabis dispensary was raided by police on August 1.

Jordan Thomas Higgins, 30, of Pleasantville, is accused of three federal Cannabis Act charges, in addition to one count of possessing stolen property.

Halifax Regional Police allege Higgins possessed cannabis for the purpose of distribution, sale, and possession for the use in production or distribution of illicit cannabis.

He's scheduled to be arraigned August 2.

He's one of four people arrested after an August 1 drug bust at Farm Assist, off Gottingen Street, where investigators seized over $43,000, approximately 45 pounds of cannabis and over 4,000 other cannabis products.

"The only legal way to buy recreational cannabis in Nova Scotia is through NSLC outlets," police said in an August 2 news release. "The only legal way for Canadians to access medical cannabis is through Health Canada."
