It's now up to voters to decide whether the council of the Region of Queens Municipality will have a whole new look after the October 17 municipal election.

There has been a flurry of interest from candidates in all seven Queens districts. The lone councillor who has decided not to reoffer is District 6 councillor Raymond Fiske.

The mayor's seat is being contended by four candidates: Brian Fralic (District 3) and Susan MacLeod (District 4), who are finishing their second terms as councillors; Darlene Norman; and incumbent David Dagley.

The final list of candidates for each district is as follows:

District 1 – Kevin Muise (incumbent), Tara Smith, Scott Christian

District 2 – Heather Kelly (incumbent), Ralph Gidney

District 3 – Maddie Charlton, Roger Jollimore

District 4 – Vicki Amirault, Allan Laws, Dan MacLaren

District 5 – Jack Fancy (incumbent), Leslie Robart

District 6 – David Brown, Jason Croft

District 7 – Gil Johnson (incumbent), Carl Hawkes.
