Join us at the Boston Brindle vintage shop in Blockhouse on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for their third annual Vintage Car Show in support of SHAID Tree Animal Shelter. Along with the car show, there will be craft and pet vendors, and we will be there too, with a few adoptable animals and some cool swag.

Currently at our little shelter, we have a great selection of adoptable pets! Lulu is a beautiful, quiet and gentle 10-year-old Doberman Weimaraner mix whose owner recently went into Assisted Living.

While a very tall girl, Lulu is extremely healthy and still quite agile for her age; she has been immensely well-cared for, her entire life. She is very respectful, stays off furniture, and enjoys a good swim and a short daily walk. She would do great in a quiet home with a retired person or couple.

Newt is a two-year-old goofy and extremely energetic golden Labrador who will need ongoing training with manners and leash walking. Both of these dogs are good with other dogs and children; Lulu is fine with cats but Newt has no previous experience with them.

If you're more in the market for a feline friend, we are still in kitten season!

Kittens are available by application only and are featured on our Facebook page (SHAID Tree Animal Shelter) as they become available. However, if you're in the market for an adult cat, please visit SHAID on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to view and meet our available cats.

Currently looking for loving homes are Stella, a 13-year-old solid white long-haired female; she has a minor immunodeficiency that is easily controlled by diet, but her cuddles make her worth every effort. Phinneaus is a two-year-old short-haired grey tuxedo male with a big, extra-long, extra-fluffy tail; he's loving and social.

Mr. World Wide is a one-year-old short-haired, all-black male who is shy and has a condition known as Horner's Syndrome, which affects one of his eyelids, causing it to droop. However it requires no additional care and makes him even more unique.

For more information on any of the animals mentioned above, please visit SHAID Tree Animal Shelter from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., email info@shaidanimalshelter.com, or call us at 902-543-4849. We hope to see you at the Boston Brindle on Aug. 26 for the third annual Vintage Car Show!
