ALLEN, Shirley Ann Marcella

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Ann Marcella Allen, 83 of LaHave, announces her passing on Monday, January 11, 2021 at home. Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Frances (Johnston) Getson. Shirley worked in healthcare for over 40 years as a registered nurse in various hospitals in Halifax and prior to her retirement finished nursing at the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. She found great pleasure spending time at home with family and working in her gardens and always looking forward to the summer to see what her perennial gardens would produce. She is survived by her sons, Stephen, LaHave, and Christopher (Connie Dea) of Bridgewater; grandson James, Timberlea and a great-granddaughter, Chloe. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Lloyd and Bob, companion, Harold Veinot. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. A graveside service will be held at the Fort Point Cemetery, LaHave at a later date.
