SARTY, Melba Pauline

Age 94, of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany.

She was the daughter of the late Roy and Althea (Awalt) Mosher, formerly of Parkdale. Melba and her husband, Glenn Sarty, were small business operators providing employment for many people in the Bridgewater area, for many years.

Besides her parents, Melba was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; her sisters, Edna Grimm (Ronald), Iris Rafuse; her brothers, Harry Mosher (Violet and Mim), Bill Mosher (Ruby); as well as her son-in-law, Allan Veinot.

Left to mourn are her daughters, Linda Powell (Angus), of Ottawa; Joanne Veinot, of Maplewood; foster son, Karl Stevens (Ann), of New Glasgow; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany, from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 18. A memorial service for Melba was 2 p.m., Thursday, July 20, in Emmanuel Baptist Church of Parkdale-Maplewood, Parkdale. Rev. Sam Jess officiating. Family flowers only.
