It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Mary Bolivar on Tuesday April 26, 2022, of Mahone Nursing Home at the age of 91.
Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Freda Hewey. Mary was very active and spent most of her life doing housework for her many clients in Bridgewater.
She was always up to the challenge to show her interest and skill in playing a good game of cards or checkers. She loved caring for and feeding her large flock of hummingbirds every year.
Mary was a fantastic cook. She loved nothing more than cooking up a fantastic meal for all who walked through her door. Her homemade raisin bread became 'world famous' for all who shared in it. When asked to share the recipe with us, she would always smile and say, "There is no recipe".
Mary is survived by St. Clair, her husband of 71 years; sons Dick (Carolyn) Bolivar, AB; Wade (Wanda) Bolivar, Oakhill; grandchildren Pam (Jamie) Meisner, Chelsea, Shilo (John) Bolivar, Baker Settlement, Jeffrey Winfield, Alberta, Barret Bolivar, Bridgewater; great-grandchildren Tyler (Kala) Meisner, Waterloo, Jessalyn Meisner, Chelsea, Robin Meisner, Liverpool, Conner Benoit, Baker Settlement, Jackson Demone, Baker Settlement, Emma Winfield, AB, Koen Winfield, AB, Ariel Welch-Chitty, Waterloo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation for family only was held Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 7 to 9 p.m. at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. A family graveside service was held on Friday April 29, 2022, at 1 p.m. in Baker Settlement Cemetery, with Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Baker Settlement Cemetery Fund or any charity of choice.
