MCKONE, Shirley Catherine

Bridgewater/Dartmouth. On August 17, 2017, we lost a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and Aunt. Shirley was born in Dartmouth and spent her youth in Eastern Passage, Dartmouth and Halifax, and later lived for many years in Bridgewater. Though mental illness affected her life, those that really knew her remember her amazing wit, charm and beautiful blue eyes. To the end, she was concerned for the comfort of those around her, their emotional well being, and even took the time to compliment the staff of the QE11 hospital of their good looks. She was unique, funny, warm and wonderful. Her remains will be interred at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, loved ones are invited to remember a wonderful woman.
