It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil Richard Spindler, 89, of Lunenburg and formerly of Feltzen South, announces his passing on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in Feltzen South, he was a son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Boliver) Spindler. Cecil settled in Ontario in 1949 where he worked as a mechanic with the CNR. After he retired in 1983, he and Alice returned to Feltzen South. He was a faithful member and trustee of Wesley United Church, Feltzen South. Cecil is survived by his daughter, Sharon (David) Bonnell, Scarborough, ON; son, Richard (Gayle), Oshawa, ON; sisters, Frances (Franklyn) Creaser, Hattie Corkum, both of Feltzen South; Thelma Findley, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Wayne, Jamie, Tammy, Blair, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Madison, Ryan, Colton, Oliver and Rosalie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Alice. Friends are invited to share their memories of Cecil with his family, during visitation on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3, Lunenburg and from where a service to celebrate Cecil’s life will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm, Rev. Heather Ferrier, officiating. Interment will be in Feltzen South Cemetery, Feltzen South.
