GREENE, Patricia Anne "Sissy"

2020-08-21

Born January 14, 1963 (57) of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at home. She was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Theriau) Greene of Bridgewater. Sissy started her working career at the fish plant in Lunenburg. She then went back to school at NSCC in Bridgewater and graduated with a diploma in practical nursing. Sissy thrived at her profession. After graduation, she worked on the surgical floor at SSRH and absolutely loved it. Her last job was working for Lunenburg County Home Support. This is where she truly shined. It was more than just a job to her. She treated all of her clients as if they were family. Unfortunately, her career ended early due to her health decline in 2014. Hard work never stopped her. She would work a 12-hour shift and still come home and do her barn chores, house chores or whatever else needed to be done, and get up and to it all again the next day. Sissy loved her animals, whether it was her herd of cattle, her horse or her two German Shepard’s Jack and Axel. Once Jack and Axel passed, it left her heartbroken. She needed to fill that void which is where Sassy came in the picture. Sassy was her dog that she got from a rescue, but always said it was Sassy that rescued her. Sassy helped her through a lot and was there with her until the end. Sissy made friends wherever she went. She always wanted to help other people, it made her happy to do so. She had a contagious laugh that was like no other and once she started, she couldn’t stop. If you were lucky enough to hear her laugh to the point all she could get out was a wheeze - please remember her that way, it’s what she would have wanted. Sissy is survived by her only daughter, Erin Page-McAuley (Rick); sister, Beth (Alex) Greene-Muise; nephews, Tyler, Tristan (Belinda), Joseph (Dominique); her favourite niece, Tegan (Ryan); great nephew, Trenton; and great niece, Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her brother, Bobby Greene. As per Sissy’s request, there will be no funeral service and cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Bridgewater Food Bank or SHAID. Please consider becoming an organ donor and if able donate blood.
