MACOMBER, Margaret Dell

74 years old, passed on Tuesday September 25, 2018 following surgery at The Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dell was born on May 21, 1944 in Rochester, NY to the late F. Allen and Florence Macomber. She is survived by her son, William Allen Lombardelli of Medford, MA; she was the oldest of four children, predeceased by Al, survived by Burnham (Elizabeth) Macomber of Brown's Summit, NC and Dorothy (Kenneth) Mundt of Bloomfield, NY and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Dell attended The Columbia School and graduated from Vassar College. Dell lived in Rochester while working at The Memorial Art Gallery and at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. While living in Boston, she worked at Boston Museum of Fine Arts and also at the Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Newton, MA. Moving to Mahone Bay, NS in late 1996, she was the CEO of the Mahone Bay Food Bank and was a proud member of the "Raging Grannies", a local women's choral organization. Her friends, neighbors, and community members will celebrate her life at a "Do" on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 2-4 p.m., at the Mahone Bay Center. Private interment is planned at The Prospect Hill Cemetery, Nantucket MA.
