BUSH, Betty

2020-03-28

It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Bush, 58, of Lunenburg, announce her passing on Saturday March 28, 2020 at home, with her husband and daughter by her side, after a brief but very courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lunenburg she was the daughter of the late Eli and Rita (Crant) Skinner, of Centre. Betty started her working career at the age of 17 at the Lunenburg Day Care. In 1991 she started her own in home day care where she worked until a week before her passing when she was forced to retire to do her rapidly deteriorating health. She absolutely loved looking after children, especially her 2 grandchildren, Soraya and Dryden Ward. They were the light of her life. Betty was the glue of the Skinner family. She hosted every birthday and holiday dinner, she attended every wedding and celebration of family. If you needed a listening ear or a helping hand, Betty's house was the go to place and a safe spot if needed. Betty is survived by her Husband, Greg Bush, Lunenburg, daughter, Shayna (Nolan) Ward and Grandchildren, Soraya and Dryden Ward, all of Rhodes Corner; Step-daughters, Kimberley Bush and Michelle Bush and their 4 children all of Kentville; brothers, Kevin Skinner (Josie Tibbo), Bridgewater; Winston Skinner (Debbie), Blue Rocks and Boyd Skinner (Rose Croft), Dayspring and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Ricky Skinner. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family or to a charity of your choice. No funeral service at Betty's request, instead a potluck bbq will be held at her daughter Shayna’s house at a later date. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
