NAUGLER, Ronald Charles, 1936 - 2017. Age 80, of Whynott’s Settlement, passed away suddenly on May 15th with his wife and family by his side. He was the son of the late Oran and Lorena (Oickle) Naugler and was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Charles, his sister, Gladys and son, Greg. Ronnie was born and raised on the Naugler Road and moved around Bridgewater before moving back to the family land in 1975. He started his early working career in Bridgewater as a driver for Coca-Cola, then worked for Cook’s Oil, Goodyear Tire and finally at Bridgewater Ready Mix. Ron was a founding member of the Oakhill and District Fire Department, where his family members still volunteer. He was a trucker at heart and loved antique cars often pointing out all the cars he used to own. During his retirement years he enjoyed the outdoors by "dubbing around" the barn and pasture. He liked to feed and watch the birds, ducks and loons on the lake. He especially loved his crab apple tree when it came into bloom and watching Lynn tend to "his" flower beds in the spring and summer. He also enjoyed old western novels and movies and rooting for his baseball team like he owned it - The Blue Jays. He will be sadly missed by his wife Lynn; his sisters Helen and Linda; his daughters Julia (Steve) and Anne (Shawnne); daughter-in-law Joanne and his grandchildren Stephanie (Roy), Davin, Patrick, Sydney and Elayna. The family would like to thank The Oakhill and District Fire Department and all the Paramedics that were so caring and helpful during Ron’s illness. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The SHAID Tree Animal Shelter where they adopted his beloved cat, Callie. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
