Age 87, Italy Cross, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017, in Ryan Hall, Bridgewater where she had been residing for the past three years. Born in Camperdown, on February 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Eldred and Blossom (Selig) Stewart. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She and her late husband Claude MacInnis drove and delivered mail for 29 years in the Italy Cross and surrounding communities and were well respected and made many acquaintances during those years. She and Claude for many years enjoyed their cabin on the lake in Hebbs Cross. Rena also was known for her painting abilities, enjoying oil and canvas painting of nature scenes and whatever came to mind; she displayed many of her paintings at the South Shore Exhibition. She was a member of the United Church, Middlewood. Surviving are her sons, Terry (Princetta) and Larry, all of Italy Cross; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle), Claudette (Wade) all of Camperdown; Michelle (Greg), Alberta; step great-grandchildren, Megan and Nicholas; great-great grandchildren, Keely-Dawn Veinot and Kylen Veinot, both of Pinehurst; sisters, Olive Kriese, Chilliwack, BC; Lois (Robert) Henderson, Hebbs Cross; brother, Roger Stewart, Toronto; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by twin brothers, Arnold and Ronald and also Emerson; great-granddaughter, Kirsten Hamm. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, August 9 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, August 10. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment will follow in the Italy Cross United Church Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the Italy Cross United Church Cemetery or charity of choice.
