It is with great sadness that the family of Judith Pauline “Judy” Legge, 69, of Rhodes Corner, announces her passing on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Emily (Acker) Zinck. Judy started working at the age of 16 at Langille’s Bakery and moved on to become office manager and assistant manager of the Metropolitan Store in Lunenburg. In 1988 she devoted her time to work with the family business, Legge’s Diesel, in Rhodes Corner. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, where over the years she taught Sunday school, faithfully sang in the junior and senior choirs and served for a time as president of the ELW. Judy enjoyed times spent travelling with friends and family to New York, Quebec City, Arizona and Vancouver or simply camping and driving her motorcycle. Family was most important to her however and she cherished her life at home where she could express her great fondness and talents for cooking, baking, and knitting. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Stephanie (Tobias Sarin), North Vancouver; son, Jeffrey, Riverview; grandchildren, Daylen and Jessica; sister, Barbara Keizer (Gordon Adams), Fauxburg; nephews, Ryan and Mark; grand nephews, CJ and Anthony and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm, Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
