WELLS, Shirley Doreen (Taylor)

84, of Pentz, passed away June 2, 2017, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Garber Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Steadman and Alice (Wile) Taylor. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Shirley was the Proprietor of Food Concession at Law Courts Building, Lower Water Street, Halifax, for 14 years. She then opened the Hilltop Diner in Italy Cross, where she owned and operated the business for three years before retiring to spend time at home and at the Cottage in Mitchell Bay, HRM. She was a member of the South Shore Bluegrass Music Association. She loved her RV, music and good times with family and friends. She will be missed by many. Surviving are her daughters Gale Veinot (Ramon Galano Lopez), Sharon Selig (Donald), Valerie Hayward (David), Carolyn Llewellyn (Edward); grandsons Graham Casley, Aaron Selig, Adam Selig, Kelly Hayward, Korie Hayward; granddaughters Carrie Lyn Llewellyn, Clorise Llewellyn; great-grandchildren Quinton Woodford-Selig, Lola O’Neal-Selig, Chrisma Casley, Mya Hayward; step-grandchildren James Woodford and Savannah O’Neal; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Wells; brothers Warren, Louis, Blake and Eric; sisters Arlean Garber (Willard), Ruby Weagle, Audrey Sarty (Robert), Myrtle Skinner (Gordon). There will be no visitation or Service by request. A Celebration of life Will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia or the Charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.A.
