It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Gordon Tibbo, 74, of Northwest on Monday, January 4, 2021 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Harbour Breton, NL, he was a son of the late William and Hilda Mary (Crant) Tibbo. Gordon spent his working life as a fisherman, until an injury forced him to retire. Remaining active, he loved to spend time in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just taking long walks. He also enjoyed spending time in his shop doing woodworking. He was very proud of his family, especially his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gordon is survived by his wife, Ethel; daughters, Cammy (Konrad Haumering) Tibbo, Spectacle Lakes, Deloris (Michael Smith) Tibbo, Fall River, Trina Tibbo, Grimm Road; sons, Edward, Lunenburg, Roy (Melissa) Tibbo, Spectacle Lakes; grandchildren, Steven Creaser, Bridgewater, Logan England, Spectacle Lakes, Jonathan Tibbo, First South, Justin Turner, Crouse’s Settlement, Shelby Williams, Halifax, Sebastian Haumering, Spectacle Lakes, Crystal Dares, Lunenburg, Josie Tibbo, Bridgewater, Rebeca Tibbo, Spectacle Lakes; several great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Ben) Hillyard, Red Bay, Labrador; brothers, Reg (Mary-Jane) Tibbo, St. John’s NL, Sidney Bullen, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Joy; brothers, Roy and Heber “Bub” Tibbo. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. In keeping with Gordon’s wishes there is to be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia would be appreciated by the family. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
