JOUDREY, Nita Jean

Of Mahone Bay, passed away in Mahone Nursing Home on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the age of 94. Born on January 30, 1923, Nita was the eldest child of the late Amynella (Ernst) Joudrey and Morton Joudrey of Mahone Bay. Nita taught in numerous schools in Lunenburg County in her younger years and enjoyed spending her days in her gardens. She was an avid gardener and her flowers and her cat were her pride and joy. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Nita is survived by nieces and nephews Dachia Joudrey, Beverly Mitchell, John Hiltz, Teresa Joudrey, Suzette (Patrick) Smith, George (Juliette) Joudrey, Marilyn (Bradley) Tremere; sister-in-law Kathleen (Aubrey Zinck) Joudrey. She was predeceased by brothers Donald Joudrey and Gerald Joudrey; sister-in-law Gloria Joudrey. Funeral service to be held Tuesday, November 7th at 11 am in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Pastor Adam Snook officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. Donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, or a charity of choice.
