Age 88, a lifelong resident of the Forties, passed away on May 10 in Chester Basin. Born in the Forties, he was the youngest son of the late E.J. (Ted) Keddy and Loretta (Bezanson). He was predeceased by brothers Seaward (Ethel), Lloyd (Marion), Gordon (Jack) (Marcella), George (Dick) (Ruby) of the Forties and Theodore (Bub) (Margaret) of Truro and sisters Florence (Guy) Fancy of East Dalhousie, Alberta (B) (George) Rhodenizer of Lunenburg, Frances (Hibbert) Keddy and Doris and Rhena, all of the Forties. Left to mourn are wife Myrna (Marshall) and daughters Mona of Montreal, Daisy (Michael Kaczorowski) and Donna, both of Ottawa. A farmer, carpenter, forester and Christmas tree grower, he bridged tradition and innovation, embracing change while staying true to the values of family and community and his deep love of the land. A Mason and founding member of the Norwood Lodge, a Masonic service will be held before visitation at the Forties Community Centre on May 12, 2017 at 6:30 to 8:30 pm, with the funeral on May 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in St. Augustine Anglican Church, the Forties. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Ross Fire Department, Forties Anglican Cemetery or the Alzheimer's Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, New Ross Chapel, 4935 Hwy 12 New Ross (902-689-2961).
