HARMON, Ernest Wilbert

89, of Petite Riviere, passed from this life peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, on Thursday March 16, 2017. Born in Crousetown on Feb 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Carrie Corkum and Samuel (Bush) Harmon. Ernest was a member of Wesley United Church and loved the outdoors. He was a farmer for most of his working life, but he was also a woodsman. In 1967, he started work at Riverport Seafoods and retired from there in 1993. Ernest is survived by his companion Pauline Wentzell; sons Frank (Joanne), Donald; daughter Helen Fenton (Malcolm); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Melissa Harmon, Laraine Harmon; cousin Larry (Connie) Wagner; many nieces and nephews; very dear friend Sandra Robar. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Norma Hope (Publicover); brothers Harold, Dean, George, Ronald; sister Marion; half sisters May, Bertha, Fanny; half brothers Frank, Weston, Gordon. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Vivian Moores Officiating. Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, Petite Riviere. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Church, Petitie Riviere or the Charity of your choice. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at South Shore Regional Hospital for all their help in caring for our father.
