1945-2019 of Dayspring, passed away on November 24, 2019 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Philip is survived by his wife, Trudy, his sister, Susan Clattenburg (Dale); his niece, Julie Mason (Jamie); his nephews, Mark Clattenburg (Carolyn); Steve Clattenburg (Andrea) and his brother-in-law, Courtney Veinot. Following High School, he furthered his education at the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology, graduating from the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. In 1966, he began his accomplished journey at Snyder’s Shipyard. Philip started working during the summers at age 14 with his father at the family business, (Snyder’s Shipyard) eventually taking it over ably assisted by his business partner, Wade Croft. Over the years, he had many interesting projects such as building Theodore Tugboat, Bluenose II and many fishing vessels. His customers became his friends and many wonderful relationships were formed. Philip enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, boating and wonderful fun-filled times at the Lake Mush-a Mush cottages. He was also a proud member of the Dayspring and District Fire Department. A memorial service was held at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg with Rev. Paul Jenson officiating.
