ZINCK, Kenneth Cecil

2019-12-06

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Cecil Zinck of Dayspring announces his passing surrounded by his family on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the QEII Health Science Centre, VG Site, Halifax. Born in New Germany, Kenneth was the son of the late Cecil and Eileen (Rafuse) Zinck. Kenneth worked for almost 30 years at Michelin Tire and retired in 2000 to further operate his own business, Try Town Transit of which he was still operating at the time of his passing. A rewarding part of his business was in providing transportation to cancer patients to Halifax for their treatment. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like a good cup of tea, spending quality time with his family at home, having a friendly conversation with those he met along the way, watching a good game of hockey and episodes of Coronation Street, making the best pizza ever and video chatting with his grandchildren. Kenneth’s passing has left a real void in his family and he will be missed by so many. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Diane (Hynick); daughters, Angelina (Mohamed Gudal) Zinck of Victoria BC, Gillian (Mike Dick) Zinck of Dartmouth; and son, Justin (Kim) of Bedford; grandchildren, Nahla, Zachariya and Maliha; a sister and brother and several nieces and nephews. A celebration for Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 2 p.m. from the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home,11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Katrin's Karepackage (Katrin's Karepackage is the first initiative to provide funding to help offset the travel costs of NS cancer patients receiving treatment); St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks; or to a charity of your choice. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
