In loving memory of Betty Hodges, who passed away April 9, 2021; age 92.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk with us every day in our hearts and Betty (mum) will walk with us forever.
She knew so many people, from her years at CMHS as an home economics teacher, playing bridge and other card games with friends and family, volunteering her time, travelling, and attending parties at her brother’s house and elsewhere.
She spent a few years working in Ontario after graduating from Acadia University, but Chester has always been her home and that she demonstrated often with the happy memories of her past that she loved to talk about. Reminiscing about summer sailing and winter ice boating in the front harbour and happy post-war memories from her youth, among other things.
Surviving are her sons Blair (Monica), Chester, and Martin (Cindy), Tantallon; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren as well as other friends and relatives.
A special thank you to all those healthcare workers; family doctor, Koleen Jensen; the Red Cross; visiting friends; and especially Monica (daughter-in-law) who cared for her daily and made her last few years better.
Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held at a later date as per her wishes.
