HEBB, Ruth Elizabeth (LeGay)

Passed away at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Friday, December 1. Aged 87. Born at the family home in Mount Pleasant on September 21, 1930, Ruth was the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Cross) LeGay. Ruth married Ralph W. Hebb on September 25, 1949. Their children are; sons Lynn Eric (Karen ) of Newport Corner, N.S. Kevin Ralph, (Fran) of Exshaw AB, Neil Wilson (Lucy) of Turner Heights N.S., Ross Norman (Linda) of Fredericton, N.B.and daughter Nancy Dawn (Brian) of Toronto ON. Grandchildren and step-grandchildren; Sarah, Benjamin, Mathew (Amanda) and their children Mahailia, Malachi and Elliot and Elizabeth and her son Gabriel; Amanda and her daughters Alida and Tori; Daphne and her children Logan, Emily, and Porter; Garland (Kelly) their daughters Aster and Parnelle. Leon and his children, Angie and Chad; Michael (Nancy) and their daughter Jennifer (Michael) and their children, Sydnee and Violet; son Jeffrey (Beckie) and their children, Avery and Addalay; and daughter Ashleigh (Kenneth) and their children, Owen and Brody. In addition to raising her five children, Ruth was active in various community groups. A lifelong Anglican, she worshipped weekly over the decades at St James Anglican Church in Conquerall Mills. Ruth was an active and founding member of the Hebb Cross's Willing Workers Club. Throughout the 1960s this group financed the construction of the community hall which later became the  HCFD hall. At various stages of her life, Ruth was an avid sewer, knitter, quilter and to her surprise, a fairly competent amateur painter. In 1987, along with her husband, Ruth commenced a happy and enduring relationship with the Bluenose Golden K Club of Bridgewater. In addition to her immediate family, Ruth is survived by her brothers Rex, Firman and David and her sister Marie as well as her sister in law Nina. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ralph, her parents and her brother Marcus. The family will receive condolences at RA. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5. The Anglican Burial Office will be said at St James Anglican Church, Conquerall Mills, 1;30 p.m. Wednesday, December 6. Committal will take place immediately after the service at St James Anglican Cemetery, Conquerall Mills.
