Age 95, of Pleasantville, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Jack is the son of the late Orvan Thomas Girvin Martin and Marie Louisa Martin (nee Timm), formerly of Woodstock, ON.

Jack was born in Kitchener,ON, but was raised in Woodstock. He joined the Navy in 1944, attending Royal Roads Naval College and retired in 1970 as a Lt. Cmdr. He then moved to Pleasantville and went to work at the family business, Penney’s Insurance Ltd. He has held memberships with the Royal Canadian Legion, the Lions Club, the Bridgewater Golf and Country Club and the LaHave River Yacht Club.

Jack is survived by sons, John F. Martin (wife, Carole D. Thomas) and Thomas Orvan Martin; grandsons, Travis Martin (wife, Roseanna), Spencer Martin (wife, Brittany); granddaughters, Rebecca Martin-Warr (husband, Andrew), Emily Martin and Kathryn Martin; great-grandchildren, Caleb Martin, Ellis Martin, Sylas Jack and Hazel-Mae Martin.

Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Patience Martin (nee Penney), his brother, Tom Martin; his sister, Sally Jean Dugas and sister-in-law, Miriam Penney.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 23 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 78 Alexandra Ave., Bridgewater, Rev. Simon Davies officiating. Immediately after, an interment will be held at the Pleasantville Cemetery, Pleasantville. A reception will follow at the Pleasantville Fire Hall, 1665 Highway 331, Pleasantville.
