62, of Fox Point, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late William and Jean (Dorey) Eagles. Michael received his Honours BSc in Biology at SMU in Halifax and his Masters in Science at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Most of Michael’s career was spent in Resource Management with DFO where he developed lasting friendships. He met the love of his life Doris, dancing at the Lion’s Club in Fox Point, near Hubbards. Together they travelled extensively. Family gatherings were a top priority and he always made time for a game of cards or video games with Grandchildren. He was a quiet resource, and friend to many in his surrounding community and he will be missed by all who encountered him. Michael is survived by his loving wife Doris of 30 years, Sons, Raymond (Paula) Brigley, Queensland and Johnathan Eagles, PEI; Brother Rob (Diane) Eagles, Fox Point; 12 Grandchildren: Nathan, Aaron, Miles, Adam, Alex, Chasity, Luke, Mason, Isaac, Jake, Nicholas and Elizabeth; Great-Granddaughter Harmony and many Nieces and Nephews. He was pre-deceased by Son, Spencer and Daughter Michelle Brigley. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Michael’s spirit of generosity, donations can be made to improve Mental Health Access, Cancer Research and Care, as well as Heart and Stroke Education and Support. Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, June 3rd in St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Hubbards: Rev. Laurie Omstead officiating. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
