It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris Walter “Buddy” Enslow, 85, of Lunenburg, formerly of Blue Rocks on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg. Born in Blue Rocks, he was a son of the late Morris and Sophie (Tanner) Enslow. Morris was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, where he served as a past Warden on the Church Council. Morris began his working career as a sheet metal worker with Powers Brothers of Lunenburg, followed by working for Highliner Foods in the maintenance department until his retirement. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Blue Rock Aces Hockey Club, as well as a coach. Morris also enjoyed a night out bowling and was a past member of the Lunenburg League. He continued to remain active in his later years by being a member of the Brittle Bones skating club. Morris is survived by his wife Catherine; daughters, Elaine Idella (Laith Al-Jumaily), Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, Ellen Himmelman, Bridgewater; son, Derrick (Dave Wentworth), Halifax; grandchildren, Chad (Dawn), Jake (Brittany), Adam and great-granddaughter, Ella; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Morris was predeceased by his brother, Russell. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. Funeral service for Morris was held on Friday July 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks. The Very Rev. John Wright, officiated. Interment followed in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Upper Blue Rocks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care or the Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff of Harbour View Haven for their wonderful care of our dad and we are so especially grateful to Denise Zwanepol for being with Dad during his final moments. Card of Thanks We would also like to express our gratitude to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg for their thoughtfulness in planning the arrangements. Also thank you to the Very Rev. John Wright for the wonderful church service; organist, Margaret Hutchinson and the Parish Choir. Thank you to the Ladies Guild for organizing refreshments at the reception. Thank you to Continuing Care, VON, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital and South Shore Regional Hospital for their support. Thank you to all those who called, came to visit, brought food to our home, cards and donations. A special thank you to Bonnie Mossman (Enslow) for the wonderful meal she prepared for us the night before the service. We would also like to mention that our father would be pleased that his pallbearers were all family. Derrick Enslow, Chad Tanner, Jake Himmelman, Adam Al-Jumaily, Glenn Enslow and Brittany Cook.
