WHYNOT, Andrew Gerald

2023-03-19

Age 54 of Camperdown.

Heaven has gained an angel!

Andew passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 19, 2023, with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Andrew was a loving husband, father, son, friend, and all who knew him, knew what a kind person he was. He always put others first.

Andrew spent his working career as a machinist at GN Plastics, Chester (27 years). His work and travelling buddy, Ian Maverick and co-workers will miss him. In his spare time, he loved nothing more than being in the woods, cutting wood and enjoying nature. Many weekends were spent on the “big” hill by his parent’s home with his dad, and later also with his son, Zach, or walking with Janet. Andrew loved sports with a passion. He played on many teams over the years; softball, soccer, ball hockey and the famous GHL hockey team from work. Andrew loved nothing more than spending time with Michaela and Zach. Whether it was coaching their sports teams or cheering them on when they played.

Andrew loved his fur baby, Marley. She never left his side. He took her everywhere with him. He loved travelling with his wife, Janet, and taking little weekend getaways. He had the opportunity to do a West Caribbean cruise, many trips to Vancouver, Ottawa, and Prince Edward Island.

Andrew was born at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater on December 8, 1968, to Gerald and Linda (Nauss) Whynot, Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Roseline, and Carl Whynot; maternal grandfather, Maurice Nauss; uncles, Wilson Whynot and Eric Nauss; aunts, Gloria Nowe and Kimmie Whynot; father in-law, John Brake.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 27 years, Janet (Brake), children, Michaela (Ben O’donnell), Conquerall Mills; Zachary, Camperdown; parents, Gerald, and Linda (Nauss) Whynot, Bridgewater; mother in-law, Judith Brake, Lunenburg; brother in-law, James Brake (John), Port Moody, British Columbia; his faithful companion, Marley.

Memorial service was held Friday, March 24, 2023, in Danesville United Church. Donations in Andrew’s memory may be made to Danesville United Church, Middlewood United Church, VON, Lunenburg County, and South Shore Health Palliative Care Services. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater where on-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
