OICKLE, Wayne Rex

2022-11-22

Age 77, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Bridgewater, Wayne was the son of the late Rex and May (Allen) Oickle.

Wayne wanted it known that he died as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors’ orders, and raising hell. He was always the life of the party. Wayne had a great sense of humor and you never knew what he was going to say. Back in the day, Wayne enjoyed the occasional drink, hunting, and fishing. Wayne also worked as a scallop fisherman and he owned an antique store in his younger years. We will miss his fun-loving, mischievous spirit and warm-hearted embrace. He was truly one of a kind.

Wayne was survived by his loving companion, Debbie Robar; daughter, Denise (Leland) Haughn of Bridgewater; sister, Brenda Mason of Bridgewater; brothers; Albert (Wendy) Oickle of Oakhill, Dale (Sandra) Knock of Lunenburg; nieces Cindy (George Rhodenizer) Moore, Carla (Barry) Bunch of Pinehurst, Corinne (Rick) Hurlburt of Yarmouth; nephew, Roddie (Veronica) Oickle of Bakers Settlement.

Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by brothers, Rex in infancy and Ronald and step-father Burton Knock.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Wayne’s request, there will be no funeral service at this time. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
