FLEET, William Kenneth “Ken” - left us May 3, 2017, after a lengthy and difficult series of conditions. Ken was born in Sarnia, Ontario, February 19, 1937, to parents Jim and Elaine. He is survived by wife, Ann and sons, Brad (Tena) and Bill, his brother David (Joan) and sister-in-law Joan (Ben) and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by two brothers, Ron and Bruce in 2016. Following high school, Ken attended and graduated from Ford Trade School in Windsor, ON as a Tool and Die maker. He worked as a Supervisor at Ford Motor Company from 1957 until 1970 when he joined Michelin and moved to Nova Scotia. Ken was a 45 year member of the Bridgewater Curling Club as well as Honorary Member and past president. Many years were spent working as a reporter for the curling club and CKBW as a reporter for local, national, and worldwide curling events. He was a member of the LaHave Fire Department and as well, a long-time member of the LaHave River Yacht Club. Ken had a great love of dogs and his long walks on the beach. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A celebration of life will be held 2-4 p.m., Saturday, May 13 in the Bridgewater Curling Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Health Services Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, V.O.N., Lunenburg County or S.H.A.I.D. Animal Shelter.
