BAKER, Stephanie Anne

2017-08-19

It is with profound sadness that the family of Stephanie Anne Baker, 36 of Masstown and formerly of Riverport announces her passing on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Antigonish, Stephanie was the daughter of Calvin Baker of Oakhill and Valerie Van Dine of Dartmouth. Stephanie’s personality was larger than life and capable of lighting up a room wherever she was. Despite the challenges she faced in her fight against cancer, it was her unique positivity which carried her through and inspired us all. Stephanie was never scared of work and held various jobs over the years, the last 8 of which, were at the Masstown Market which she loved and valued the support from her work family. Stephanie’s love of life, family and friends were so important to her. Her quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity, and sense of humour will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her. She was a golden thread of love spun invisibly through all our hearts and lives and we have all been richer to have known her. Besides her parents, Calvin (Linda) Baker and Valerie (Michael) Van Dine, Stephanie is survived by her brothers, Blake Baker (Krystal Veinotte), Northwest; Michael Van Dine, (Kaleigh), Vancouver; sisters, Megan Van Dine (Derek King) and Melanie Van Dine both of Dartmouth, special aunt and uncle, Jim and Bea Johnson of Bedford, grandfather, Walter Baker, Bridgewater and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Tyler. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg with visitation (today) Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and where a gathering for family and friends to share stories and celebrate Stephanie’s life will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Stephanie memory may be made to the family through the funeral home or to her brother Blake Baker. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
