GETSON, Marion Geraldine

Age 93, formerly of Newcombville passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay where she has been residing for the past ten years. Born in Baker Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Ida (Veno) Baker. Marion always enjoyed knitting and baking. Surviving are her daughters, Margaret (Aubrey) McCarthy, Hebbville; Marsha (Paul) Veinot, Springfield; son, Lawrence Jr. (Darlene), Newcombville; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Getson Sr.; a son in infancy; daughter, Marjorie Oakes; sisters, Shirley Keddy, Arlene Nowe, Lillian “Jippie” Lohnes; brothers, Herbert, Charles and Garfield. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, June 6 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 7 at All Saints Lutheran Church, Newcombville. Rev. Svante Olson officiating. Private family interment will follow in Newcombville Cemetery, Newcombville.
